This vintage piece is an original block print used to print designs on fabrics in India. Block printing has been used in India since at least the 12th century, and the method is thought to be 2,000 years old.

This large peacock is special and unusual - most block prints are smaller and less detailed to make the repetitive fabric printing process more efficient. While you could still use this block print to print fabric it is more suited to be displayed as an art piece in your home or office. This piece would look great propped on a shelf or mantel. The natural wear of regular use can be seen but this item has exquisite detail and is in excellent conditional for it's age.

Approx: 10.5" wide x 10.75" tall x 2.5" deep
