Chindi Rugs are woven floor mats, also known as a rag rug because they are made from scraps of fabric. Home-made chindi rugs are often made from pieces of old clothing (waste not, want not). Chindi rugs you buy in the store are usually made scraps of fabric from the garment industry. This deliberately keeps unwanted fabric out of the landfill making the rugs both environmental and cost effective. These rugs are intended to be utilitarian with a coarse look and feel.

This chindi rug is a mix of cotton & jute material.

Jute is a natural fiber that is course and strong. 

With this type of up-cycled production each rug is a little unique and small imperfections are just part of the charm. All rugs are a wide variety of colours, each will be unique.
